1. Consider bleeds and trims
Extend all background images into the bleed area to allow for accurate trimming, while keeping text and non-bleeding images within the safety zone.
2. Design files with CMYK colors
Be sure to create your design with CMYK colors or convert your RGB and Pantone colors to CMYK before submitting it for printing.
3. Convert fonts to outlines
Ever wonder why those funky fonts appear? To make text non-active to eliminate font issues—and to streamline the upload process—convert all fonts to outlines before submitting a file.
4. Select high resolution images
Images must be 300 dpi or higher for best printing results. Lower resolution images, such as those clicked on and saved from the Internet, will be blurry when you print them. Always use the original source of a file for high resolution printing.
5. Design files with CMYK colors
To create a rich black, use this formula for CMYK black: Cyan=30%, Magenta=30%, Yellow=30%, Black=100%. Using 100% black with 0% C, M, and Y is recommended for black text or elements that are meant to reproduce as a dark gray.
